For one of our more niche builds, Project were approached by Linden Homes to develop a bat roost to provide an alternative habitat for the mammals before building work could start.

At the time, the bats were living on the Bitton Mill site and with plans to develop, first a bat roost had to be built to comply with planning permission.

Project designed and built essentially a room within a room including a specialist ceiling for the bats to hang from, entry & exit points and an observation deck area for ecologists.

Project Details

Commissioned by Linden homes to erect a bat roost with all the elements of a bat roost design in the middle of woodland, next to the Bitton Mill site, prior to the commencement of the Bitton Mill project, to comply with planning permissions.
Required to build a room within a room with a specialist ceiling for the bats the hang from with entry and exit routes for the bats.
A deck area so the ecologist can observe the bats.
